Wiiiiii, That Was Fun!

Its official - I'm a Wii -aholoc.......... Hi, my name's Dawn and I'm an addict.

I, in the past, have been 100% against video games. My hubster has a Playstation 2 and can sit in front of it for hooouuuurrrrrs! He lacks the will to walk away. The kids could be in the back yard bloodied by falling out of a tree or drinking a bottle of Draino and he would never know. Hence the art work on our playroom walls, but thats another post entirely.
With that said, I continue my story.
I bought the dang Wii system yesterday and installed it last night about 2 hours before dinner. HUGE mistake. I thought ok, I have a couple of hours...how long can it take to check it out and play a couple of games. HA Boy was I ever wrong! Dinner was about a half an hour late, thank goodness for Monday leftover night. Who the heck stole the last 2 1/2 hours? Wii did! Oh and instead of getting my sewing done after the girls went to bed. Guess where I was?! Until 1 am!!!
For those of you that own a Wii, did you know about the Wii Shopping Channel? Yeaaahhhh dont go in there. Its the fastest way to download games to play on the system. Imagine this... its 11pm, your hangin out in your comfys and you want a new game to play, voila! Tons of CHEAP fun games right at your fingertips. Most of them are half the price of buying a hard copy in the store. I bought the Brain Challenge... ever play this? You think your smart? ...the sickeningly sweet cartoon chic will smack that thought right out of you.
All I have to say is I WILL NOT end up like my dearest hubby with his Playstation. I vow never to flip the ignore switch when he is talking to me. I promise whole heartedly that I wont let my 2 yo run around in a poo'd dipe for 2 hours and I SWEAR I will feed them...REALLY I do!

Get Ready For GAME DAY

All work and no play....thats what I have been doing for the past 3 weeks. I'm steadily getting ready for my first bazaar of the year next weekend. Sewing clothing, more infant blankets and embroidering everything I can get my hands on.
I decided to stop, smell the roses and spend a couple of days with JUST my kiddos last week.
Guess what I resurrected from my childhood? Ever played the game Hungry Hippos? I'd like to think that anyone that has children, has had children or has been a child at one time knows what this game is.


I brought it out and you should have seen B and E's eyes light up! We set up the hippos and the girls put on the stickers for eyes. Since E is only 2 and B is just over 3 we really didnt go by the rules, just explained how to make the hippos "eat" the marbles. They LOVED it!
That got me to thinking...what other games did I play as a child in the late 70's early 80's?
So I researched it online and came up with the top 10 games of the 80's. We still have all these, Electronic Battleship (I still have the original from when I was a kid), Mouse Trap, Connect Four and Operation.
